Project

En-ROADS

Interactive climate simulation workshops for systems thinking and climate action.

About the Project

Climate solutions through simulation.

En-ROADS is a free, online simulation tool developed by MIT Sloan Sustainability Initiative and Climate Interactive. It allows users to explore the impact of various policies and actions on global climate outcomes.

As Global Shapers Stuttgart, we host interactive workshops where participants use the En-ROADS simulator to experiment with different scenarios — from renewable energy adoption to carbon pricing — and see their real-time impact on global temperature, sea level rise, and emissions.

These workshops foster systems thinking and empower participants to understand the complexity of climate change while discovering actionable solutions.

What You'll Learn

Climate Science

Understand the key drivers of climate change and their interconnections.

Systems Thinking

See how different policies interact and affect each other in complex ways.

Policy Impact

Explore which policies are most effective at reducing emissions and limiting warming.

Collaboration

Work together in groups to negotiate and prioritize climate action strategies.

Impact

Empowering climate action in Stuttgart.

Our En-ROADS workshops have reached participants from diverse backgrounds — students, professionals, policymakers, and community leaders. By making climate science accessible and interactive, we empower participants to become informed advocates for climate action in their own spheres of influence.
